Business HR Role
1. The Role
a) In this role, the HR team would be the ‘Business Partner’ for the group(s) with which they are associated.
b) Business HR will closely work with the respective group(s) to understand their business objectives as well as challenges and then devise and implement strategies to accomplish the desired results. Understanding the business would be the key to success.
c) They will be responsible for effective implementation of company’s HR Strategy, global Policies, Practices and Systems with their group(s). This will require close collaboration with Corporate HR and Regional HR.
d) This is a global role, the team size will depend on the size, growth rate and complexity of the group(s) they are responsible for.
e) People in this group would require good expertise in multiple areas of HR.
2. Key Result Areas
a) Staffing Planning and Resource Allocation
b) Work with the Talent Acquisition team for fulfillment of the hiring needs of the group(s) they are associated with – and get involved in the hiring process (short-listing, interviewing, selection, etc.)
c) Providing inputs from the business perspective to Corporate HR for shaping of the global HR policies
d) Functional On-boarding Process
e) Execution / Deployment of key HR processes like Talent Management / Learning & Development / Internal Communication and Employee Engagement as per Corporate Framework
(i) For example, Training Needs Identification, Talent Conclaves, Succession Planning,
HR Quality Systems (Process Compliance), Employee Engagement Initiatives, Ethics, etc.
(ii) Engagement with employees at locations (including those where the employee population is small).
f) Handling of Performance related issues within the group(s)
g) Ensure adherence to Compliance requirements in respect of indirect (contracted or outsourced) staff engaged by the business
h) Manage integrity and accuracy of the employee database
